Lighting Correction

Levels part 1: Basic lighting corrections
Get those blacks black, whites white and everything in between perfect. Say goodbye to grey, washed out images forever.

Curves: Advanced lighting correction
The big daddy of lighting and color control. When Levels can't do the job, it's time to reach for the scary-powerful Curves function. It's what all the cool kids use. Do the Levels tutorials before you try this one if you want to understand what I'm raving on about.

Too light image: Multiply fix

Overexposed image and can't be bothered to fool around with Levels or Curves? Here's the hands down easiest way to correct it with a little bit of Multiply blending mode.

Too dark image: Screen mode

Underexposed images quickly and easily fixed with layer copy and some Screen blending mode application.

Too dark foreground: Shadow/Highlight correction

A neat and easy correction for when you forget to use your flash. Built in luminosity masking and curves corrections in a relatively simple dialog box make this one extra handy.

Color Correction

Levels part 2: Color correction
Got a picture with a strong blue, red or green color cast? The quickest and easiest way to get rid of them is right here.

Quick and cheerful color alteration with the Color Replace command. Ideal for jobs that you need to get done double quick as Color Replace is both a selection and alteration tool in one. Use wisely, grasshopper.

Color correction with Photo filters
